Alloy Steel F2 rods usually contain ~0.18–0.25% C, ~1.0–1.2% Mn, with minor additions of Cr or Si. Normalized or pre-hardened, they provide tensile strength of ~600–800 MPa and yield strength approximately 350–550 MPa, with elongation ~12–18%. With consistent case hardening response, they can achieve surface hardness above 60 HRC and maintain a tough, ductile core. Their high-fine-grain structure provides consistent mechanical behavior and low distortion when heat-treated. CNC-machinable, they retain tight tolerances—even through heat-treatment and surface finishing.
