Nitronic Bars and Rods, such as Nitronic 50 and Nitronic 60, are nitrogen-strengthened austenitic stainless steels containing chromium (20–23%), nickel (8–11%), manganese (4–9%), molybdenum (up to 2%), and nitrogen (0.2–0.4%). These alloys are more resistant to galling and corrosion than regular stainless steels. Nitronic 50 offers exceptional elongation (~35%), yield strength of roughly 450–600 MPa, and tensile strength of up to 900 MPa. Under extreme stress, Nitronic 60 provides outstanding galling and wear resistance. Both are appropriate for demanding applications because they retain their good mechanical qualities at high and low temperatures.
