Stainless Steel 316 (UNS S31600) is an austenitic stainless steel alloy that contains 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum, along with small amounts of carbon, manganese, silicon, and iron. The inclusion of molybdenum enhances its corrosion resistance, particularly against chlorides and acidic environments.
