Stainless Steel 317L (UNS S31703) is a low-carbon austenitic stainless steel alloy that contains about 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, 3–4% molybdenum, and a maximum of 0.03% carbon, which boosts its weldability and resistance to intergranular corrosion. It features a tensile strength ranging from 515 to 760 MPa, a yield strength of around 205 MPa, and impressive elongation of about 35%.
