The commercially pure titanium grade with the highest strength is Titanium Grade 4, which has approximately 99.2% titanium and trace amounts of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, hydrogen, and iron. It provides ultimate tensile strength of up to 550 MPa, yield strength of approximately 480 MPa, and good corrosion resistance. It possesses good ductility, a Brinell hardness of about 200, and can work in stressed conditions. Its melting point is approximately 1660°C and density of 4.51 g/cm³. Titanium Grade 4 rods/bars are suitable for applications demanding high strength and fair formability.
